Shoutbox wondering if we need one.......

wondering if a shoutbox would be a good addition to the board...........

My opinion, I do not like them..they slow the boards, and sometimes take the "talk" away from the lounge area...I like to read all posts and know whats going onwith you guys...I would hate to miss it when its talked about in the box...we have had these on other boards I visit..non-BB boards..and they are cool but also take wway from board content sometimes...on a few of the ones I mod at and admin we have made the boxes "on" at set times so everyone knows when they are on and they chat then...like Tuesdays and Thursdays for 2-3 hours at a time and thats is. Seems to work well that way, gives you a chance to say what up to friends but keeps stuff being posted in the forums..

I like them but I like posting better really. If it didnt effect the efficiancy of the board than yea it would be cool.

I like BBB's shoutbox. It's pretty quick.

if it didnt affect the efficiency of the board i'd probably get one....but they slow it down BIGTIME

and yes, they detract from the posting on the board.

I almost wish i hadnt started a shoutbox trouble is now i got one the members have come quite acustomed to it so dont bother mate. its hard to get shot of once its there without causing some upset

I agree with Anon here. The shoutbox takes away from the posts. I for one like posting better. Its good to have the conversation documented so you can always return to it as well as direct new people to the information.
