Well, We got a decent backup goalie Pat Wolim? (sp?) this afternoon. Lots of big signings. I'm hoping we (sabres) snatch Hossa away from Jackedpuckster's precious lil bruins tonight and all the rage is on Brooks Orpik tonight.

Sabres haven't made much of a splash in a long time.... SO COME ON! LET'S GET NUTS!!

Brian Campbell signed for HUGE money with Chicago. Sundin is in HUGE demand, Vancouver offered him a huge contract. Ty Conks goes to D-lo, Tucker the fucker's off to Colorado... ah. no more... We haven't done much yet. Come on make a splash already....

Wolim??? Hmmm. Don't know him but the Sabres huh? so I am going to guess Patrick Lalime. Pretty good but probably not going to play unless Miller gets injured.

So many players I don't even know who they are. I only watch the playoffs. It just seems like it's in slo-motion during the regular season.

Pens had a great year for how young they are. I just hope they don't lose too many guys to free agency. It likes they will keep the guys they really need though! Malkin is supposed to sign his contract for 31 million for five years soon. not tooo bad!

Pens have a good shot at keeping some faces, but all the names are gonna command more than the org can afford.

Well, the Sabres haven't made any big splashes yet. I don't think they will. Sabres fans have been wrapped up in free-agency drama so much that we forgot a couple key things.

Darcy Regeir is damn smart. All the other GMs have been spending like drunken sailors at the titty bar. Namely Tampa this year. They're stacked, but they're gonna be broke as FUUUUUCK for years to come. Vancouver wants to give Mats Sundin a 2 year 20 million dollar deal. That's fucking stupid he's 37 and he's never won a stanley cup with the leafs (if anyone.)

That's the way the league is doing business. Darcy said, in so many words, don't expect a huge signing because we're going to deal in trades this year. The sabres need a D-man to replace Campbell (which by the way Chicago WAAAAAY overpaid to get him yesterday.) Given that Tampa Bay has in one day painted themselves into a TIIIIIIIGHT corner, I can easily see Darcy trading some of our garbage for Dan Boyle who is a superb D-man that Tampa may longer be able to afford.

Also soon to be on the blue line in the next couple years is the 6'7" native Texan, Tyler Myers who was the 12th overall pick in the 2008 NHL Draft. This season we're gonna see LaLime who i hear is pretty damn good (started in over 20 games last season) backing up Miller so he can have a rest when he needs it. We have Nate Gerbe and Tyler Kennedy who prettymuch owned the college ranks and WILL be well respected in their first year and feared by the time the new puppies we got in the draft are ready to go.

I'm reading now that Darcy went public saying that he's actively seeking a new D-Man right now and currently just about the only one left to get who'se worth anything is Western New York native Brooks Orpik. So maybe we get him after all.

By the way Penguins fans, I was crushed when D-lo won the cup. Pittsburg was my dog in the running since round one. One of the only eastern teams that I respect (even though you bastids did get lucky as hell with the 1st overall pick which was Sid.)
