If you don't know what a Bowflex is, you must not own a TV. I've tried one before and it provides some resistance just seems like a baby machine to AAS users
. It's certainly not a bodybuilding tool IMO. My rant is more on the way they advertise it anyways.I saw the latest commercial for it and they say all it takes is "20 minutes a day, 3 times a week". The people on the commercial are no doubt ripped , tanned and oiled up. But ONE HOUR a week??? Give me a break. There is no mention of diet either. The fine print is all about financing this machine. Seems the "quick fix" marketing works best. |

For BB'ers, the bowflex isn't ideal but I know a few people who use them on a regular basis and have gotten fit from doing so (along with diet and cardio). Not ripped or huge, but that was not their intention from the outset. If it gets people off of their fat asses, I'm all for it. Having said that, one could purchase a lot of free weights for what one of those machines cost.
I know what you mean about the "20 minutes three times a week" BS, though. That and you know that the people they show using the machine in the commercial didn't get to where they are by using a Bowflex. ![]() |

How about the geek that claims to be 49 and a rock star? He trains on it everyday, he says. That commercial used to piss me off. Hell, my then girlfriend used to look at that commercial and laugh. And she doesn't even train.
IMO, you'd do better with a universal gym.

This thing blo's, a friend of mine bought one a few years ago, were trying it out, it only has like 210-250 lbs worth of resistance, snapped a damn rod off!!
For the money he spent on this crap he could have started putting together a real home gym. At the time this joker was like close to 2K!!

They are useful as clothes racks.

Maybe to use for mondo reps to spur hyperplasia as part of a long term periodization schedule; between cycles to press 100 reps of 215 or something similiar for all movements for 3 weeks ...
Expensive ass clothes rack, LOL. Ugly as fuck too! |
