Its not a bad gig, easy cash if you ask me. Just make sure you can deal with drunks. I'd say go for it.

I have been a bouncer for over a year, its easy money depending on the spot you work. If you are on the door, you can accept donations if someone is out of dress code, or somebody does not want to wait in line, if the club is crowded. If you on the inside you dont have all that much extra earning potential. But you have to ask yourself:
Are you working with others, and if so do you trust them with your life? the Demographics of the club, younger is not better. Can you deal with Beer muscles, or loud bitches? Do you, and can you fight, being big aint shit, if you have a goon, or someone who can fight with nothing to lose?

Thanks yall. I am a cop in the military & I deal w/ drunks on a regular basis...especially on the weekend.
But as far as actually getting the job, do you just ask the manager if they are hiring? I just dont wanna sound stupid...ya know... & this is just a country bar, but its HUGE...I'd say the biggest one in Texas!

I bounced in New Orleans for almost 4 years. Easiest money I ever made.
$10 an hour, plus door "tips". $20 an hour plus tips whenever it was busy in town. I worked for a company that "contracted" to numerous clubs, so I got to work every night. Great gig. My favorite place to work was the Red Room. Never any problems, and eye candy galore. Second favorite was Bourbon Street Blues Co. The big money is definatly as door man, or working the VIP scam. I loved it when dudes tried to play the big shot " I know the bouncer" guy and had large groups with them, trying to get VIP without being on the list. Big tips off that. The only drawback was we had to split with the management. |
