Hi I just got a scrip for the Androgel pump, I'v been reading that Testim's are better, does any one know. This is a new doctor so I don't really want to push for the injects till he gets to know me.

My dr gave me Androgel and didn't work at all, actually my test results came back lower when I was on for 3 months. The same dr. didn't want to give injects because he was uncomfortable with it so I switched dr's and she lets me give myself injects.
.... She actually prefers it. I heard Testim works better, but your clothes will stick to your body and has a scent you might not like and if you have kids, wife or gf you dont want them touching the spot that the Androgel or Testim was applied to either. Injects are wayyyyy better.Hope this helps. |

Thats my plan, I'm going to call in 2 weeks and say I hate the gel it's iritateing me, and I want to switch to inj, he doe's no of my history of as use and he was actually coolwith that he I told him that i havn't used for 3 years that's not true but his responce was then your levels arn't coming back if they havn't already, so i think asking for inj will not be a problem, i just will need him to let me do it myself cause it is way to hard to leave work during the day to see him for inj's.

I am going to wait until my refills are done and talk about injections instead. My yearly blood test is coming up so hopefully things will work out.

Testims ARE better. Look under the HRT section, I've already posted a bunch there.
I'm about to jump to injectables, though. It really wasn't that difficult. Me and my doc get along great, first off, but the main factor is price. Injections are incredibly inexpensive, if you have a valid script. I'm going to be losing my health insurance before too long (god damn downsizing). Even before that, though, my co-pay for either one of the gels is $55/month. My copay for injections would be $5. Full price w/o insurance is about $250 - $300 for a month of the gels (maybe more because I am on two tubes of Testim per day) and full price for a month of injects without health insurance, price of needles and whatnot included, will run me about $25 - $30. Just tell your doc that your co-payment is high and that you talked the pharmacist about your options and the pharmacist suggested the injects and said that not only are they cheaper and more effective, but that they also cause much less skin irritation. If you come at him like that - that it is on the recommendation and advice of the pharmacist and that it is coming from more of an economic consideration and side effect management issue - the doctor is much more apt to not think that you are scamming for drugs and give you want you want. |

What's the stuff that Suzanne Sommers touts? She did an interview and mentioned rubbing Testosterone on her chest and how it made her feel good.
