Default CKD / Anabolic Diet

I've been on the Anabolic Diet for about 3 months now, and from my experience it does seem to be the best way to lose fat. When the time comes to cut calories, you're body is 'fat adapted' which means it prefers to burn fat as opposed to glycogen for energy. This means your fat storage reserves are more like glycogen, and your glycogen is used more efficiently. When you cut, a much larger percentage of fat is burned than LBM when you compare it to someone who is primarily a carb burner.

As far as gaining muscle, the science is there (optimal hormones / hormone manipulation at the right times), but I started the diet on cycle, and I've lost some gains through PCT, so I guess it hasn't been a good test in that regard. To be fair, I started cutting not too long after PCT. I think I'll stick to the diet however, and see how it plays out, as it is the best natural way for boosting T-levels (Think whole eggs).

Is anyone else on a CKD diet like this? Have you ever used one on cycle, and what has your experience been like?

Default Re: CKD / Anabolic Diet

I love it. I modify it to a 14day cycle. My versus is similar to body opus/keto diet.

First 7 days I'm in full blown ketosis and do low intensity cardio ed, no weights.

Days 8,9 I carb load and rest (anabolic period-supercompensation).

Days 10-13 I hit the weights hard and finish with low intensity cardio (no carbs).

Day 14 Eat 20g of simple carbs and hit a full body workout with drop sets followed with hit cardio. No carbs and introduce fats back in.

Seems to work very well. The two days of carbs loading, easily fuels the 4 days of heavy weight training. I've learned Fats must be about 60-70% and absolutely zero carbs is a must to make a good transition into ketosis. Each time I run this cycle I can easily lose 5lb of pure chub, while maintaining strength.

Its well thought out and planned diet. Not completely convinced of GH increase benefit though especially considering the norm protocol of guys running it. Food for thought.

Excellent idea.

I have always wondered about the training idea of destroying yourself for a week, then doing a week of deloading / recouping, then a little rest, and then back to hitting it hard. It almost seems like this method would work better than the same thing every week.

So for example, you lift 5 days with decent amount of volume (7-10 sets per bodypart). Lift heavy low reps, then the next week you do a sort of like dynamic effort week, then rest a few days and start again.

I really wonder if that would be superior...

As for you carb loading phase, that looks pretty nice. What I've noticed is that if you are truly carb depleted, you can refeed say 7000 calories. Say your maintainence is 3500. Your glycogen stores can hold about 800-1000 gram of glucose from carbs. So basically you could eat 4000 calories from carbs, and another 2500 cals from fat and protein, and you'd still be in a caloric defecit, right? Of course your body would steal needed cals from glycogen, but then that would leave that those stores a bit more empty again, so you'd gain ZERO adipose.

I WOULD SAY....UP THE CALORIES BUT EAT CLEAN...CUTTING CALORIES AFTER A CYCLE AMOUNTS TO LOSS OF GAINS. PCT...TRAIN HARD...EAT ALLOT OF CLEAN CALORIES AND THEN GET ON CYCLE FOR A CUTTER. IMHO.

Default Re: CKD / Anabolic Diet

First post here so Hello,

I've got a question that pertains to this though, I'm currently on a Tribulis/HGH/Glutamine/Andro Mass stack, and was curious if I can run this the first 2 weeks or so into my Keto. I've started this mass stack and really am happy with my results taht I had almost achieved pre mass stack phase, I've leaned out a little via this stack and put on just a little bit. This is my first Prohormone cycle and I'm not too impressed but would like to finish it. At this poitn in time from my research it looks like my HGH/Tribulis/Glutamine is fine but I'm not sure on the Andro, this is the mass stack from international suppliments if you guys want to check it out.

I'm more concerned with weight loss at this time, I'm about 18-22% BF right now and my measurements are pretty damn respectable:

5'8" 232 at this time,
18 1/4 arms
Big traps and back, massive calves and thighes etc..

Pretty damn happy with the bulk as out of my 10+ years of lifting, this is my biggest, I'm running the full Lyle MacDonald style CKD in a 6 on 1 off fashion and this is not my first one so I have the necessary supporting supps, ie..
Fish oil, mulit's, keto strips all that jazz. I want to get to 210-215 in my 45 day cycle of CKD then I'm going to a low carb lifestyle after the intial CKD blast.

You guys think it's safe to continue my stack until it's out, as stated before, about 15 days?

Let me know and preciate it, looks like a great site and I'll enjoy frequenting it

T
