ok... i ordered some stuff from overseas and i wasn't home when the package was delivered. so the postal service left a letter in my mail box stating i have to pick up the package at the local post office and sign for it. is this suspicious? what should i do?

Check with the source and see if he sent it with a signature required.

I had the exact same issue , however it was a domestic package and I knew the source did not require signature. Even though I was hesitant. I signed the back of the slip and checked "redelivery" and tapped it to my mailbox. Postman retrieved slip next day and package was redelivered to my mailbox with no problems.

Was it registered or unregistered? This happened to a friend of mine, he ordered overseas and it was unregistered. The post office made the mistake and had him sign anyways, most likely you will be fine but.....its always going to be a risk.

Good advice, with the way the pigs are handing out court cases i wouldnt want to make it too easy on them by having to worry about customs. Thats just me though, and good domestic aas sources are not as easy to find as international ones.

That's normal if the shipper required a signature, which most do. This is why you get a usps box or ups box.

I got a package recently from overseas with sig required by the mailman. I was home when he came so I just signed for it. Turns out the mailing package was torn! You could actually see inside. Fortunately, it was wrapped so well in other stuff.

Still...made me a nervous with the damn tear.

I live in New York City, with no doorman, so anything that doesn't fit in my tiny mailbox automatically gets sent back to the post office and a pink-ish slip gets left stuck to my mailbox - if I want redelivery I have to sign the slip. Otherwise I just pick it up with the post office and show my ID. Pretty standard operating procedure, even when sent through regular USPS.
