I've recently heard some good things about fat loss w/ var. Anyone have any experience with it? I'm by no means a BB, but am looking to drop some weight. I'm currently on HRT, with Test. Enanthate, and HGH as well, and just want the var to lean up. I'm about 230, 34 yo, and want to (eventually) drop about 20-30 pounds. I was looking to do about 30 mg a day for about 8-10 weeks. Does this make sense?
Also, does anyone have any recommendations on the protocal for taking it? Early? Late? Before eating? After? Thanks for any info and help!! Hunter |

I think anavar is a great addition to a cycle, and it will help fat loss. I wouldnt use it without upping your dose of test though. If you want to go the totally legal route, you can get oxandrin from your doctor. They are 10mg tabs and are great, but they are really expensive. If you dont have insurance paying for it, I would just go for a good UG lab. I would take it at 40-50mg a day for 4-6 weeks and increase your test to 500mg a week. You could take it twice a day with food, but on an empty stomach is fine to.
I think just saying to take DNP is pretty crazy. I am a fan of DNP but I dont just recommend it blindly either. |

I think cardio and diet would be enough. The Var may help you hang onto a little bit more muscle while dieting but it will not just "melt fat"....

Anavar is one of my favorite orals and it does work well for cutting however if you are looking for a fatloss drug that will give you very noticeable weight loss I think you will be a little let down. I mean if you where running a good cutting cycle and a good cutting diet adding var would help lean you out. I personally don't think that var will help you lose weight as well as the GH should.
I'm not saying to skip the var, I just think that if you are looking to lose 20-30 ponds you may want to consider T-3, clen ,GH frag. Just my opinion though. ![]() |

Not to be glib, but I agree with getthepump40. Var is a fine AAS to help hang on to muscle when you're dieting--but I'm unaware of any "leaning" effects from var itself. So to answer you're question directly, I don't think you'll find anyone with experience using var as a stand alone weight loss supplement.
DNP on the other hand, will do the trick right fast. Indeed, DNP is probably the only "magic pill"--almost anything else I can think of will still require an eye to calories in vs calories out. Lots of things help a sound diet: ECA, Clen, T4 (well, T4 is pretty close to a magic pill as well but you'll lose lean mass which is not the case with DNP), but I don't think var is one of them. If you’re a full spectrum HRT like you say, I don’t think you’d even notice the var. On the other hand, if you want to double the amount of training your doing while maintaining the same caloric intake, var at about 50mgs daily would probably give you some nice body recompostion. But in this case we’re using it as a lean tissue builder, rather than a adipose tissue burner. Ronn

Not sure what DNP is...I was gonna just go UG w/ the Oxandrine var and not ask my doc. I don't wanna push it. She did give me a script for Phentermine which did absolutely NOTHING for helping me lose weight. That's why I was thinking of the var.

Ronn,
I just read your response...Thanks, and I totally get what you are saying. I am fairly new to all this and that's why I came here for some answers. I don't want to take something that is a waste of money and not necessary. |

If you are looking at anavar strictly to lose weight, than I agree with ronn, it isnt that great. If you want to take anavar to help you build some muscle while you maybe lose a little bit of fat, then I think that is a good idea.
I am still very against the idea of just recommending DNP without knowing anything about the guy though. I am not against him using it if, but recommending DNP blindly is dangerous. To me it is like someone wanting to gain 10 pounds of muscle and us recommending insulin rather than just a cycle of test. Insulin might be right for the guy because he might be on a ton of steroids already, but we dont know until we have his experience and what he has used in the past. What are your diet and training like. Those are going to be the key for fat loss. |

Diet is the number one key losing weight, far and above any training or supplementation. What are your eating habits like? Are you still eating 3 large meals or have you started to eat 6-7 small ones instead? If you would post what your regular eating and exercise regimins are like (say for a day of eating and week of training) you'll get a lot better input about what would be good for you.
Only after we know these basics, we can't suggest any supplements, because you may not need anything, except maybe more broccoli and sweating. |
