I was at the grocery store tonight and i was in the allergy section and i decided to pick up this inhaler called primatine mist and to my surprise the active ingrediant in this shit is pure epinephrine! I almost shit my pants. I can imagine this stuff can boost your metabolic rate to a pretty decent degree. Anyone else heard of this stuff?

The primatine I've used has ephedrine. Are you sure that is not what you mean? The inhaler doesn't have the ephedrine. I've not researched epinephrine, but have never heard of it boosting metabolic rate.
Of course, I'm no expert. lol |

Overall epinephrine is one of the catecholamines that have profound affects on the adrenergic system. As such it is an adrenergic agonist activating alpha1 and beta1 receptors. It can inhibit insulin and increase lipolysis. Now whether you will see an effect from primatene mist I can't answer.

I asked this question of albuterol inhalers sometime ago, as I have a million of them and the answer is sadly no. The dose and duration of activity in your system isnt enough to do squat, unless your taking a puff every 5 min

Just a little FYI: Epinephrine is adrenaline. Its highly absorbed by the bronchial lobes and acts as a bronchial dilator. Even thought it helps deliver oxygen to the body i wouldnt recommend it preworkout as it tends to create rapid heart rate and excessive breathing which can make you faint or cause severe dizzyness.
Thanks alot, Trenbaloon@abb.com(MY HOME)

Primatine mist is *this close* to being taken off the market as a bronchiodialor. It can cause an extraordinarily elevated heart rate, chronic anxiety, and - in the worst cases - can even trigger an asthma attack. Most asthmatics would rather gouge out their eyes than use this sh*t. Plus if you get close to overdosing you'll just feel plain ol' crazy.
