Ok, so I am not going to bitch about the candidates we have running this season, all I am going to say is, are we ever going to have just a regular guy run for president that truely respresents the average Joe?
I am a former Marine (explains the name). I went BACK into the Marine Corps in 2003 and fought in the Battle for Fallujah, in which I was wounded and am now medically reitired. I truely believed in the fight back then, and I am still a STRONG supporter of the troops and would never bad mouth the Commander in Chief (at least in public like this). I will not say things that may make my country look weak or devided to our enemies....BUT..I will say...not another once of American blood should be spilled on that sand! |

honestly im in the same boat as urself. i have many views on things because of who im friends with. from all diferent backgrounds and upbringings. too many of these candidates are iffy in my honest opinion. im a republican, but i wouldnt want mccain in, we need a fresh face. the democrats are more at war with each other right now and i dont see either candidate getting any state other than the usuals for democrats. the whole midwest and south will always vote republican. die hard evangelicals will always vote republican. its just a battle of numbers now in races. there are no landslide wins ever anymore. they become more cookie cutter each election. atleast bush was a funny person to make fun of. and he took heart in it. he never really cared people thought he was an idiot. i dont know what we would have done during bushs time in office, but its behind us now and we need a president who can unite us again. right now its very seperated.

We need an innovated person, someone who thinks outsde the box. I want a president who use to be poor or middle incomed, not these silver spooned fucks that have no idea about the average struggle, how can you ever relate to the people if you've always had it good. These people make promises to people and when they get into office they start running the country like a fortune 500 company. Republicans are worried about financial pursuits and Democrats are a bunch of bleeding heart liberals, why can't we have a nice medium.

i agree shaolin.........i hate liberals and i hate rich snobby fucks. what i want is a president that worked to get to the top, not born into it....ya know? i want a president who isnt fake as fuck like obama and hillary, but doesnt have a stick up their ass like mccain. eventually we will get a middle class citizen, maybe from the labor unions eventually.

Personally, I've long thought that the two party system in this country was dead or, at best, a puppet show with the same people contolling both puppets (thanks to the dearly departed Bill Hicks for the analogy).
The Dems have long been fractured into many different groups and it appears, now that Huck has decided to keep the fight going, that this will (hopefully) fracture the Republican party as well, well the hard core financial conservatives and the evangelicals breaking away from the more centrist oriented McCain base. Only once the two party system is gone will there EVER be a chance for a regular Joe to get to the top of that political mess. If not for any other reason than the fact that to get to the top of the political process you have to wade through some very murky waters and make shady back room deals and even if you were a complete saint coming in, by the time you got the top you'd be just as jaded as the rest of the old boys. For most good, decent, people who would actually make a difference once they got there, the shit that they would have to go through makes it not worth the effort. |
