OK guys, really long story made short: I'm considering getting a motorcycle. I would be interested in a "sport bike" model. This will be my daily driver. My girl has a car so for groceries, rainy days, road trips, whatever, there is another vehicle in the house. I would use the bike daily to go to work, school, and gym. I really have no life so not too many miles every day. I plan on buying a new bike, not used. When I was a kid I had a dirt bike, but that was for fun a couple times a week. Couple questions I would like input on.
--What is the milage expectancy of a bike ? A car generally will at least run 100k before any major problems occur, what about a bike ? --What would be a good "starter bike" for myself ? I would be looking at a 5-600 cc engine, nothing rediculus --Any other input or considerations I should make would be appreciated. Thanks |

Also depends on how you are going to ride it.......burnouts, front tire stands, etc. all affect how long a life the components will have...
And they are probably more expensive than a car to fix if you dump them |

Rx Genes....Remember, as long as that bike has a tag on it, INSURANCE has to be paid. My first bike was a gixxer....I wrecked it, lol Not my fault....Not so much a beginner bike...They say that Triumph are some of the safest bikes on the road. I was going to get one but couldnt land the financing...This was before I even met my wife from the UK ha
If you are having finacial difficulty, You will be in FAR worse shape. Insurance is fucking High as hell...you are still in school and not married...guessing under 25 as well? I had a spotless record and was still paying 350 a month just for the insurance...It wasnt because it was a gixxer...I say "JUST SAY NO" Wait til you finish school and have a good job...then live up the creature comforts.....JMO stay safe Dan
