Just saw the Davinci Code movie...

Don't know whether i liked it or not. It makes alot of reference to Pagan beliefs....so much that it tries to convince you that Christianity as we know it is no more accurate a belief than Paganism. In the movie (a fictional work of course) the storyline gives alot of facts to try to disprove the events in the Bible. I'd like to know how much of what is stated as "facts" in the movie/book is actually fact, and how much is fiction. The Pagan symbolism it talks about seems very believable...but then again i know nothing about Paganism.


I've never read the Davinci Code book.....anyone care to share on this topic?

I too have never read the book but have heard that it is a fine read. I spend a lot of time reading, don't laugh I really do, but have not been interested in this particular novel thus far. I have heard mixed reviews on the movie as well on a few different boards. Ranging from it was money well spent down to some books are never meant to be a movie.

It's interesting how quickly peopl are to ridicule anothers beliefs based on their own scientific or literate knowledge. I for one will leave that argument up to Massacre. Haven't seen him around lately, don't know why.

I believe in Christ but some of the things in the church are based on paganism, the ring in marriage is circular ( sun, circle of life) Christ was not born on Dec 26. This was a move by the Catholic Church to convert pagans on their celebration of the guarantee of the new year. Easter is not when Chrits rose from the dead, but when pagans celebrated their harvests. There are many pagan symbols in Christianity.

I'm just now learning this and its very disturbing.

Has there been documented a difinitive date when Christ was born and when he was resurrected? If so, what religion celebrates these ACCURATE dates????

i heard its estimated around the beginning of december. im not sure if anyone knows an exact date

I don't know muxh about the Jehova'a Witnesss but rget don't celebrate birthdays, Christmas, or Easter because they are all based on pagan rituals.

we went to see the da vinci code there on saturday nite at the movies.
in all i found it a very interesting and enjoyable movie.
im gonna buy it on dvd when it comes out.

As for the topic here , i dont know much about religion to state anything.

I have not seen the movie yet, but am going to. I just like movies that spark this kind of controversy and social/theological discussions. I rememebr when "The Last Temptation of Christ" came out. Everyone was so up in arms as to what the movie was about, etc. So of course I had to go see it. I really liked it. I mean, I believe in God, etc(won't get into my personal beliefs) but the whole movie is kind of a "What If" movie. It makes you think, ponder, wonder, etc. I like that. Who says Muscle heads are dumb?

I've read the book but havn't seen the movie yet. Wether it makes good points or not about paganism doesn't bother me. Thats why it's called faith.You will never be able to prove or disprove it no matter how hard you try. Thats the beauty of having faith. Either way I'll still be in church on Sunday.

Yup, I saw the movie. I found it rather interesting. Although it's a "fiction" movie. I think they just say it's "fiction" because the church would probably go ahead and have people murdered (AGAIN) because the truth is revealed. I possibly beleive most of what was said here. I also beleive Jesus was the man. I say fuck religion and I respect Jesus entirely. Why? Definately not because a book told me to but because he died for his beliefs. Not because he is "GOD's SON."

I beleive Jesus was a very spiritual person. Very deep as well but I also beleive he was no more powerful then me or anyone else reading this at the moment. I feel he was just used as a pawn to make "christianity." I do beleive he got married. I do beleive he had kids. I do beleive that the church will go about anything to keep that secret as they need to have control. If you don't beleive the church has control then I'm sorry you're wrong. They definately have control.

Right now I'm really busy and I really would like to get deeper into this subject so I'll be back tonight to tell you what I think a bit more.
