So i've been pretty much doing the same workout routine my whole life. I've grown, but I've hit a plateu and i want to send a new shock to my muscles to promote more growth. So, if you could bros, and if you like, build my program. Please include squats (i assure you all will anyway), box squats, and leg presses. I stand by these being great exercises and there is no substitue for them.
I'm not saying my program is shot to hell but physchological wise it's getting to be "too" routine. I just want something new. What works for you big dogs. What does your regimen look like? thanks bros ![]() by the way my goals are to stay lean and put on good mass. And i know alot of that goes with good dieting which i am pretty solid in that area.

In between. My legs need more bulk, but other than that I just want to add a little size but stay lean.

I could bore you with some exercise logs, but what I have started doing is every 3 months i will switch which body parts I do together, I have used a program similar to your before, it worked well. right now I am doing arms( bi's tri's, forearms) monday. tuesday is legs and abbs wednesday is chest, shoulders, thursday is back and abbs. friday I do an olympic style whole body workout ie; dead lifts, cleans, squats, and some bench, and . PS. on saturday I usually can barely move!!

Varying my reps and poundages has worked good for me - meaning, i see you pretty much stick to a predetermined number of reps. I like to go as heavy as possible on some days dropping the reps to as little as "2 or 1" and going with as much weight as possible; then drop down and bust out a bunch of reps. Doing this every now and then, I believe, is good to promote mass and strength. It's worked good for me anyway. Also doing heavy negatives has worked good for me to break through plateaus.
I'm 44 now and have made the best gains of my life on all three lifts: squat bench and deadlift over the last couple of years doing this type of lifting. I was stuck at 420 on the bench for a long time. I recently hit 505 raw. Don't be afraid to eat either - not sure what you're diet is but.. bottom line is.., the fastest way to get through a platuea is to gain a few pounds - don't be afraid to take in the calories. Just eating chicken breasts and salad aint gonna cut it. best wishes, v/r |
