Buy all items I list in this e-mail NOW, to avoid last minute emergencies that cannot be fixed.

Hopefully you shave your body...if you only do selected areas, begin shaving off ALL hair from the neck down. Start now, to condition the skin and avoid any last minute shaving associated problems. Last shave will be the Thursday before the show.

Get a base tan. Nothing too radical, but get a tan that is noticible.

You need to take Friday off work or school. You start all this on Friday.

Get one (1) - 8 ounce bottle of Protan. After showering on Friday (use a loofa or "scrunchie" to exfoliate), put on three (3) coats of Protan evenly spaced throughout the day. Do not put on face. Paint up to jaw line and hair line in the back.

Put old sheets on bed and where ever you will sit because of potential for staining of furniture.

Whatever anybody tells you or what you read, DO NOT shower from hence forward. Meaning, your last shower will be Friday morning before putting on your color.

Wake up early on Saturday and put on one (1) last coat of Protan. You are now done with the Protan.

When you get to the show, the promoter will go over the rules, etc...as soon as he is done, you and your helper must get backstage or to the dressing room immediately.

Put on one (1) application of Dream Tan. Smear it on and "pat" out all the uneveness. A little goes a long way. Check out the consistency when you get it and if you want it smoother and to flow a little better, add mineral oil DROPWISE (one drop at a time, mix with toothpick). Be careful here. If you add too much, you cannot fix it. Rub a little Dream Tan on your face to give color and add evenesss between the body and face.

Last, stand about 24" from your helper and have the helper "ever so lightly" spray you with non-stick cooking spray (Pam or store brand) If it gets too heavy in an area, "pat" with hands to even-out...use a cotton towel if necessary. Done.

Have a canister of wet wipes with you so you can clean your hands and so can your helper. Tell helper to wear "old" clothes. If its your girl helping you, tell her to forget the fashion (at least for the pre-judging)...today, its all about you!

If you forget everything, don't forget this:

There are two (2) things you CANNOT be on stage. You CANNOT be too dark and you CANNOT be too ripped.

what is the opinon on jantana posing oil? i use a similar method as mentioned above since i was 17 but i hear jan tana has great stuff.

Jantana and Dream Tan CANNOT be used together per the manufacturer of Dream Tan. Probably the guy who makes Dream Tan also makes ProTan...lol!!!

The best tan I have had I used pro tan Friday early 2 good coats. Then Friday night jan tana. next morning just touch up the jan tana and then put on the jan tana posing oil. the easiest way i found out to apply jan tana was to get a wax applicator and saturate it and just pat it on. you will be super dark.

Looks good. I might have to try it. I usually use pro tan with a bit of dyoderm mixed in. I put on 2 coats on wednesday (AM & PM) 1 thursday night, 1 friday night. Day of show I use dream tan #1 before Pre and finals. I use the Muscle Sheen for pre judging and The muscle juice i think its called for nighttime as its more glossy. An NPC judge told me be glossy at night, just a little bit shiney for pre.

i used pro tan also for my show but i was air brushed with it and it came out great. that is the only way i wil tan know before a show. the only down side is it took a long time to do because we used a small air brush one from a hobby store for model cars but i think you can get larger ones that you can do your whole body in just a few minutes
