This is a brand new inhalable form of insulin which uses tiny foil packs of powdered synthetic human insulin that are vaporized by an inhaler device and then breathed in by the user about 10 minutes before a meal. Apparently it is very fast acting and can be used anywhere with NO needles; this means you can use this insulin in public. Obviously, if you google the name in the title you can find all the info you want. What I want to know is how usefull this item might be to us(bodybuilders, athletes, fitness freaks and the chemically crazed). Also, any opinions on availability w/o a doctor's Rx in US.

i think the only chance getting it over the black market is if the product is sold concurently in europe and you can get it from an overseas pharmacy.
seen it on the news though....definitely looks interesting, but i'd be curious how long the half life is because ultimately thats what makes insulin effective for bulking like Humulin R......if this stuff only lasts 45min-1hr (less than Humalog) i'd doubt it would be of any use to us.

I would think a short half life would still be good for the post workout window. You could slam down some carbs, creatine, glutamine and some bcaas. Because you're not taking in a whole food source or shake with these items, it should digest quicker and take advantage of the insulin shuttling it to the muscles to jump start recovery immediately after the workout. I would probably still use a longer acting insulin upon rising to help with a longer last increase in nutrient uptake. For me I lift in the evenings and don't always have 4 or 8 hours to be sure that my PWO shot of insulin is out of me before I hit the pillow. The inhaled insulin would work perfect for my PWO shot.
