Default Guns...private ownership good or bad?

I will go to my grave believing in the second amendment. I'm curious what everyone else thinks.

I strongly believe in our whole constitution, but the right to bear arms is one that is very dear to me, I grew up in the mountains of NO. Cali, we hunted for sport and food.. I say that by letting me have firearms they are doing a favor to anyone that tries to break into/ harm my home and family, I think someone would rather me shoot them, than stab them with a steak knife, either way they will die, one is more humane..besides, take a poll how many guns are actually registered to the current owner.. I would buy a black market gun if it was my only option..

Excellent point! No matter if they made gun ownership illegal or not, don't think for a moment that criminals wouldn't be able to get their hands on a weapon if they want to bad enough. How many guns do you think are legally purchased by murderers in the first place? I doubt they think to themselves that they'll go down to the gun shop and purchase a nice little 9mm and fill out all the paperwork so they can walk into a public place and shoot the joint up. Like someone said, imagine how much differently things could have turned out at Virginia Tech had someone had a gun legally concealed. I'm sure there still would have been deaths that day, but I am convinced that the number would and should have been far, far less.

The only gun control i am for is keeping it on target as the magazine emptys. Gun registration is the governments way of keeping a list of who has them, when they decide to start seizing them.

Having and owning a gun is my right as an american!! Using it as defense on someone that is treaspassing in my house, that means me harm, is also my priviledge,......killing inocent children, teens or adult is not and should not be tollerated!!! Carrying a gun to any school, university college or where there are lots of children, shouldn't be an option either!!
I think everyone should begin to teach there children about guns, how to use them, what they should be used for and not for, at a young age!!! I think alot of the accients that happen with guns are from not knowing about them!!!

Stay Strong~~!!!

Thanks for clarifying that. There was a firearms ban on the university campus. Campus police were not even allowed to carry. I think that a person with a concealed weapon permit should be allowed to carry virtually anywhere, at any time. Including universities.
