chains gains!!
let me first start of by saying i felt stupid as hell the first day walking in the gym with a gym bag full of chains, but nowdays I wear the damn things around my neck walking in..lol I noticed about 5months ago my bench was stuck at 355lbs. I tried using block method, smith machine, negatives ect. I finally find a article on prowristwraps.com about the use of chains. the article went on to say how they increase your acceleration off your chest. i figured why the hell not give it a try. I started off with Pair 5/8" Chain, 3.7 lbs per ft, each chain weighs approx. 19lbs.,5 ft length.) Which is suppose to be ideal for someone who benches between 200lb-300bls. i figured why not start small and just see if they work. By the 3 week of using them, I noticed I was getting more reps with the chain at 315lbs. Well the fourth week I decided to not use the chains and try my normal chest work out. I started with 225 for 12 then so on up to the moment of truth (355lbs) I got under the bar, took a deep breath and lifted the weight off the rack, to my suprise the weight seemed light for once. I lowered it down slowly and exploded up,seemed to easy so I did it again. I endedp getting 4 reps of 355lbs. I was amazed!! I continued using the same chains for another 8 weeks until I finall got my bench up to 385lbs max,no a bad jump from 355lbs. i than switched to Lifting Chains-Pair 3/4" Chain, 6.6 lbs. per ft, each chain weighs approx. 28lbs.) just to add some more weight. today i'm maxing in at 400lbs even. I just casnt get that extra 5lbs yet,but I will hopefully in the next 2 weeks. in total my bench went from 355lbs to 400lbs in about 5 months. which is amazing to me,because I hadnt gained but like 20lbs on my bench in the last year prior to using chains. All I can say is if you have reached a platue in your bench or squat this might help you jump past that breaking point as it did me.
Much respect
