POLITICAL: The War in Iraq
I hear alot of talk on the news about a Democratic congress wanting to end the war in Iraq, but can't overturn the veto of our Republican president.
Just out of curiousity, are there any of you that consider yourself Democrats but are IN FAVOR of the war in Iraq? How about Republicans OPPOSED to the war who want to end it?

I'm a democrat, and I really don't know where I stand on this issue. In the beginning, I thought we could go in and get the job done and get out. But now it seems impossible to actually finish up in there. I don't think it's going to make a big difference if we stay or not. In way over our heads as far as I'm concerned. Just my opinion...............

I don't really know what I am, but looking around I might say that I am a libertarian more than dem or rep. My view is that we should pull the troops out and bomb the shit out of Iraq ala Dresden. This should have been done before any american set foot in that nasty sandbucket, but it's not to late yet. This is the 21st century, there's no need for hand to hand combat. Bomb the fuckers! that's my .02 anyway.

I'm registered as a democrat, but I usually vote republican - I guess I'm a moderate. I was all for the "War on Terror" in the beginning, but IMO, our president continues to abuse his power and has essentially become the biggest bully in the world. Too many mistakes have been made, too many American soldiers are dying, and we are basically interfering in a centuries-old civil war. There will NEVER be peace in Iraq, no matter who intervenes, so it's time to bring our boys home (or at least divert them to Afghanistan to find Osama - the one his actually responsible for 9-11)

Iraq was a fuckin nuthouse for a long time before Sadaam got it under control. It seems those people need torture and public beheadings to live a peaceful life. The Taliban brought peace to Afghanistan when no government could. What does that say about those people?
I dont understand the people or their culture so I will just say I hope with all my heart no more people die there and this thing ends tomorrow.
