I have experienced some brutal acne on AAS. I would like to
how some of the members here battle this problem. Anti Bacterial soap seems to work the best for me. Acne meds seem to make mine worse. And I know Accutane can cause some serious sides including suicide or so ive read. |

Acne medication works by drying up the skin and forcing what spots you have to the surface, also pushes up all blackheads and the likes.
I was using anadrol and got major bad acne on my back, chest, shoulders. Now it got to the point were i was getting acne boils on my back. very painful and if not treated leaves scars. Anyway i had to wear a vest under any shirt as my back would bleed because the acne was so inflammed. acne soap washes did nothing for me. So i went to the doctor and got what he said is the second most powerful acne drug to accutane as a dermotologist can only prescribe accutane here. ive been on it for about 4 weeks now and its really clearing the acne up. im not inflammed now and im not breaking out in spots either. skin feels smoother and just normal to a certain extent. the drug i got is called. erythmycin ( maybe spelt wrong ) its an anti-biotic. im on 750mg per day for 3 months. plus i was also prescribe an anti-biotic gel to apply each night after a shower before bed. as ive said it is clearing it all up, its slow to treat acne but with time it does clear up. this drug has no sides like accutane and ive had no side effects. if you have severe acne from steroids then i suggest you go to the doctor and get help for it. i left it to long and it got very bad. |

I have tried two anti-biotics, minocycline and bactrim. Minocycline didn't work so that's why my dermatologist switched me to Bactrim. I have been on it for about 4 weeks and it's starting to clear up. He also gave me some soap and a gel (although I am at work and don't know their names).
I am also tanning 3X a week so it's looking much better. If anything the Bactrim stopped new white heads from forming. Be careful with Accutane. It's very toxic and can have some nasty sides. If you have a doctor try the oral antibiotic route first. A lot of people don't understand what exactly causes the acne but here's the skinny on it: A ceratain androgen causes an increase in oil production by your sebaceous glands. Then your oil pores become clogged with bacteria which causes an infection and eventually the acne. This is why antibiotics are the appropriate treatment since simply put, acne is just an infection. |

topical Isotretoin (accutane) gel is supposedly sold in Mexico and i've heard it worked well. I use some stuff called "Clobevate"...Clobetasol Propionate gel 0.05% and it always worked great for me. Try to find some of that online or ask your doc about it.

clindamycin phophate and hydrous benzoyl peroxide. it worked really good after 2 days. really dries your skin out but feels so relaxing to the skin. the clindamycin is the anti-biotic in it |

I am not sure about using it with AAS, but I used accutane twice when I was younger. I took it for like 6 months when I was 22, then for 8 months when I was 24. They dont want you to take it for long periods because it is subtoxic on the liver. As far as the suicides and stuff, that is BS I think. The parents were suing the company, but the fact is that the kids belonged to the group that has the highest suicide rate anyways (young men). Add to that the fact that these were kids with bad skin, and probably not happy with the way they looked.
All I can say is that I took Accutane prescribed by my Dermatologist and it worked miracles for me. I did not want to stop taking it the last time and actually started taking one a day instead of two so they would last longer. Not even that really, at the very end I took one every other day. LOL I was paranoid that the acne would come back. I am 28 now, and the acne never came back. The Accutane does something really good, what it does is that is squeezes every bit of puss (not sure the technical term for all this, this is laymans terms lol), well it squeezes out all of the crap that makes pimples. So you actually get worse when you first start taking it, but it squeezes all of this stuff out of the gland that causes it. So then after you are done taking it, the gland usually doesnt fill back up, and you will rarely ever get a pimple again. I had to take it twice though, which they dont normally do, but mine never came back after the second time. I ended up with some scarring which sucks, but oh well, the acne days are behind me and my liver still works. The only thing that I would worry about is taking it too often for too long and causes problems for your liver. |

The gels are called Retin-A and i think it is OTC now. They didnt work as well for me, but if you dont have it bad, it will work I am sure. Just remember it will take a few weeks to work, and you actually get worse before you get better (well not sure about this with the gels, but with the pills its that way).

Ugh, acne is why I don't run high amounts of test in my cycles and never use it as a base anymore. One thing that I've noticed that helps is taking COLD showers. When you take hot showers, the oils come out and the acne becomes inflamed.
