Gotta have at least two pairs of shoes for the gym. One for leg day, one for everything else. If you do any amount of cardio, its very important to have a good solid supportive shoe. When you do legs, the soles of your shoes will compress. Soles and support obviously deteriorate over time but if you add a couple hundred pounds, that smashes the hell out of the support structure of the shoes. This is the same structure you need while you are walking on that incline (or running, eliptical, whatever). How you determine your designated shoes is your business, just make sure to put a pair a side for leg day only.

I've never even considered this option. Is it really neccessary to have a separate pair of shoes for your leg workouts??

Oh yea, when doing excercises like squats or dead lifts you want flat soles with no cushion. I use wrestling shoes for my low back and leg work. It keeps you in the groove and not falling foward or back. If I forget my wrestling shoes, I wear no shoes at all. |

I have a pair of Jordans that are my all time favorite and most comfortable training shoes. I forgot which number exactly they are since there are so many but I will let you guys know as soon as I find out. Wow, I love those shoes.

Not really neccessary I guess but just put it like this. Next time that you buy a new pair of gym shoes, don't throw the old ones away, turn the old shoes into your leg day shoes. By doing this you are also extending the life of your new shoes. So no tiggs, don't need to go out and buy a new pair of shoes for this, but when the time comes, don't throw out the old. |
