Who saw Hughes vs. BJ Penn?

I actually thought Penn was gonna win until towards the end.....Hughes is just an animal and doesn't accept defeat.

St. Pierre could have at least showed him a little respect in his statement at the end......Hughes is gonna stomp his arrogant ass too!

I dont know Anon- if there was 30 more seconds in the second round- Penn might have won that bitch.

Problem with Penn is he is not a 5 round fighter. He gassed out with St.Pierre and did the same with Hughes. If the UFC ever decided to go to 2 round fights he would reign.. problem is- that day will never come.

FINALLY someonewho shares my liking for the MAN!! If you watch that fight closely you can see BJ letting that triangle go B4 the bell, so Hughes was getting into position to get out of it IMO, he was in it for 40 seconds which wasnt effective, so Penn had to let go eventualy, I trained mma and holding that position takes alot of energy!! Anyone else notice St. Pierr talking shit like a 3rd grader, like it was staged, then stuck his hand out to sheake Matts hand, come one, not impressed?? He finished someone YOU couldnt!! PERIOD!!

GSP is a respectful bro guys. He was trying to hype the fight. They are told to talk shit, it gives them a bigger pay day. I have trained with and met Matt Hughes....this cat is arrogant if anybody is. He won the fight and Matt is a badass, but I can assure you that GSP is a class act. He went in after Matt's fight and apologized expplaining he was told to say something to create hype, Matt told him to fuck off. I guess I don't blame Matt, but Dana White would be the one to blame. He wants to turn UFC into WWF. All shit talk you hear is pumped up by Dana telling them to play into it more.

Dana is great for the growth of the sport, but horrible at making it look classy and real. This sport is about the fans, but yet it should remember to keep the fighters true. As the sport grows us fighters get bigger paydays, but treated more like animals. Telling us how to act or we won't get the fights. There is hardballing going on in this sport and it will become boxing someday. I fear that. Being I have been in the sport before it was just cool, that bothers the fuck out of me. I have been told what to say and how to act many times, I won't play into that.

Just my 2 cents.

I will congrat Matt, he fought a great fight and hung tight for the win. BJ is a friend and affliated to where I train. A Nova Unaio fighter. So I was partial to BJ winning, however Matt outworked him in the end and showed he was true champ.

I figured it was staged...looked like it and they were laughing afterwards...I take nothing from GSP, he is one of my favorites, If Matt cant have the title Id want GSP to have it, class act for sure...Just looked stupid talking smack, like he isnt used to it, prob cause he doesnt ever do it.
