legally or in terms of MLB?
Legally: if he lied to the grand jury and it's proven; conviction for perjury. I am not even going to ponder what the punishment could be, but he will get no jail time. MLB: This is tricky because he's never been caught, i.e., never failed a test. If, however, during the investigation they are able to attain evidence that he did it, then it raises an interesting question. But first, what standard of proof are they after? Beyond a reasonable doubt, clear and convincing, more likely than not? I don't know the answer to that question. But if MLB convinces themselves that Bond's did juice, then I say suspend him for an entire season (might force retirement). The sports writers will remember all of this when hall of fame voting time comes. The soft-handed approach would be to punish him as if he were a first time abuser and that sentence is a lot shorter than a one year suspension although I don't know exactly what it is at this moment. |

theyre all retarded. If he juiced in MLB then he's not the first and he certainly wont be the last. There are MLB players that juice and arent even very good. For him, it just enhanced his natural ability and it makes for a much more entertaining sport. I say dont punish him at all.
However, he shouldnt have lied to a grand jury...that is perjury. Canseco is a rat, and i think he's a poor excuse for an Italian...but he didnt commit perjury. Bonds should have come clean in court, fuck what they thought about him as a player....committing a crime is worse. His pride got in the way. By the way, feel free to talk about anything in this section....Football, UFC, Boxing, Cricket (Dan)...

nothing should be done, Im tired of people busting other peoples balls for juicing to improve performance...
They are payed to entertain us, who cares how they do it.. I bought that book of shadows and they bring up a very good point...would u watch track if guys were running 5 and 6 second 40's? baseball is already boring as it is and sometimes unwatchable..would you watch a 1-0 or 2-0 game? where the pitcures dominate and the home run leader at the end of the year is in the mid 30s? Would we watch football or hockey if it was slow with no bone crushing hits? Basketball with no dunks? |

As paying fans, we deserve to see the best athletes science can produce today. If the home run wall is 400ft, nobody wants to see a 401ft home run. I wanna see Bonds rip that thing 600ft !
I am pissed at Conseco for this though, if you wanna tell the world you took gear, fine, good for you. There's no need to rat out a bunch of other people though, mind your own business. I feel bad for Bonds because it has really turned into a scandal about him, not about the MLB and their policies. He shouldn't have lied but don't we all lie about our usage ? Certainly lying to someone in the gym is different than lying to our government but that how society is right now. Its certainly not very steroid friendly. I would like to see steroids decriminalized. Not neccesarily made legal, just decriminalized, there is a difference |

all this crap is getting out of hand, i wish they would just allow steroids, make the ball field bigger, the ball alittle heavier, the hoop alittle higher, the goal alittle smaller. theese pros get paid so much freakin money it should be more of a challenge than a game. if they were all juiced it would be a whole new sport, every sport would be way more intense.

I think that was where the XFL was going but it didnt make it too long did it? I agree with RX, we deserve to see the biggest people science will allow compete in every sport.

I blame Bud Selig. If MLB had put a testing program into place when this all began, the whole thing may have blown over. Once the media gets a hold of anything, it's done for. I'm not pro or con for AAS in sports, but either way, it shouldn't be public knowledge. People are to naiveto handle the truth. Plus, it created teh frenzy we are in now, which is why the feds are all over these boards! AAS have been around for ever, but it is only really because of this recent MLB stunt, that they are now public enemy #1. Oh yeah, and F**K Canseco for fueling that fire.

People (the public) should get a fucking clue before they make a judgement about anything, let alone steroids. Our government leaders should should also have to pass some kind of knowledge test about the shit they are making rules/laws for. Canseco couldn't make money by doing the only thing he could (baseball) anymore. He got jealous and greedy, so he ratted, thus a book. He got pissed cause people were breaking records on juice and he couldn't be involved. Typical little kid shit.
