I've lifted both geared and raw. And although I do agree that yes..wrapped and suited you can run into some issues. You don't train in them daily. If you train properly they do assist you.
You have to figure...you still have to have the strength to take a 1000+ bench and control it down to your chest. The suit itself isn't going to do this. It does offer you some spring at the bottom of the lift but it's all you to lock out. That said...I like raw as it is true strength as it's all you..start to finish.

I do agree. I have a very good freind that has benched 1075lbs, and I have seen him do board presses with 1200. Just to be able to hold that weight us incredible. Let alone bring it down, hold it at your chest, and then press it to lockout.
I have much respect for both raw and geared lifters. It's all about personal preference. I like squatting in briefs and wraps because I feel it helps keep my hips and knees from exploding...lol S&H
