T is for Training, not Working Out
Many people say they're going to the gym to "train," but what they really end up doing is working out. To help clarify the differences between the two, I made this easy to follow chart: Someone Who Trains Someone Who Trains 1. Sweats Someone Who Works Out 1. Complains that it's too hot in the gym Someone Who Trains 2. Listens to Rage Against the Machine Someone Who Works Out 2. Listens to Lionel Ritchie Someone Who Trains 3. Is catching his or her breath between sets Someone Who Works Out 3. Is reading who Paris Hilton is currently banging in this week's gossip mags Someone Who Trains 4. Wears Chuck Taylors Someone Who Works Out 4. Wears a headband Someone Who Trains 5. Refuses to sign up at a gym that doesn't have a power rack Someone Who Works Out 5. Is ecstatic the new line of ellipticals are arriving Someone Who Trains 6. Is proud of the calluses on his hands Someone Who Works Out 6. Uses gloves while performing lat pulldowns Someone Who Trains 7. Looks forward to deadlift day Someone Who Works Out 7. Would rather do leg curls Hopefully that clarifies the difference between the two.
