for the last year i've been injecting my steroids subcutaneously using insulin needles. The method was actually explored in a scientific publication and deemed a reasonable thing to do, and since reading that i've been happily hitting the insulin needle every day.
the recommendation from the paper suggested injecting not more than 1 ml, so i inject much more often. it helps if you get high concentration steroids, such as 200-300 mg/ml. here's an example: 600 mg of Test E ew adminstered as 0.4 ml of 300 mg/ml Test E, 5 times per week. the frequent injections keep my blood levels very even as well, limiting side effects like acne. i have never had an inclusion (lump), thanks to my main source, whom has always provided clean aseptic gear (thanks, you-know-who-you-are). Moreover, i dont have injection site pain. in summary, i've been very happy with the move. Just wanted share the info and see how many others are doing it this way. |

It may sound stupid to you but have you or anyone you know tried it this way? Probably not. More n more it is being referred to by docs and more n more it is being tried by people with great results n no abcess.
People are STILL stuck in the past world of what works but don't realize things evolve. New things get tried or we would never progress. You have to try new things or we would never know what works and what doesn't work and don't be afraid of oldtimers or vets saying you can't do this or that. They just don't know n are set in there ways. The one thing with this way is more injects cas you don't want a lot pinned into one area and also NO PAIN... whatsover cas of the little injection. I can't imagine tho how long it takes to draw certain stuff into the slin pin...lol Don't knock it til you try it....

I have read and heard a lot about this and the science seems practial. I have just had a fear of an abcess or a lump. Dr. D, what size slin pin are you using to get the oil through? I would be up for trying anything, however at first mention, I wasn't to keen on the thought of pinning my guts with a 23ga pin. But hell a slin pin for all my injects, I think that concept kicks ass.

i have also tried it and it works, i didn't draw with a slin pin, i drew up with a 18g and pulled the plunger from the slin pin and put the aas in the slin pin from the top.
