Where do u guys get your WHEY

Trying to find the best quality cheapest whey out there. Preferably an isolate. I used to always go with Champion's whey but is like $40something now for a 5lb'er and recenly i've been using Dymatize Elite since it says "isolate" on the bottle but when you look at the ingreds its says iso and concentrate which are like most of the whey's so they were kinda false advertising. Anyone know the cheapest site and brand to get some good quality isolate.

^^^ NICE just went to protienfactory and on their "sale" items they had 7lbs of CFM whey for $50 and its normally $70 and they had 5lbs of mircrofiltration isolate for $38. So I basically got 12lbs of top quality isolate for $100. Not bad as to I was paying $38 for a 5lb of ON whey which isnt even pure isolate.

i've always been with trueprotein...I may have to switch over to the factory.

before I was always using OpNut ON whey gold std. then it got really expensive about a year or so ago.

a few things to remember when shopping for an isolate:

1) stay away from ion exchange isolate....its an inferior process which creates a "stripped" final product. look for CFM or cross flow microfiltration whey. the best whey protein will have the lowest carb and fat content (under 1g each for a 30g scoop) and have a low sodium content (under 50mg per 30g). a high sodium content is a way to tell if you have an ion exchange whey.

2) Dymatize Elite is 70% isolate / 30% concentrate with a large portion of the isolate being ion exchange. Optimum Gold Standard is probably a 60/40 blend with some whey hydrosylate thrown in. probably not enough to make a difference, its just a marketing thing. Most "100% Whey" you see at Walmart or Sam's like the EAS 6lb bags are a 70% concentrate.....crap IMO.

The only Whey Isolate that I trust are:

Syntrax Nectar (they use Glanbia branded Promina which is a CFM Whey)

Ultimate Nutrition IsoSensation 93 (a 93% pure isolate and Ultimate always passes purity tests)

Ergopharm GF-Pro (pure isolate and Ergopharm is one of the few companies i trust because I know Patrick Arnold and he is an honest person)

AST VP2 (100% Whey Hydrosylate, best whey you can buy....but tastes like shit)



I dont know about Protein Factory, they say they dont use Chinese whey protein so thats good....but their protein always smells/tastes like a vetrinarian's office or pet shop every time i get it.

Don't know anything about True Protein whether they get cheap Chinese whey or not.....but alot of times you get what you pay for.

There's not alot of profit margin in whey protein sales (especially isolates) even for the big boys so if something seems unusually inexpensive it might be best to just call it "CHEAP".

Really like The Nectar series of protein powders. Actually the best "isolate" I've used yet. I pay the extra $$ for their brand name over the bulks.

Good to know thanks brother. Glad I didnt get ion exchange. Dante the guy who invented DC training only recommends ion exchange whey so I thought it was good but didnt know its an inferior process. Glad I got the cfm and microfiltration whey from protien factory. So Anon, if I had to go to the store to get some 5lb whey, which brand do you recommened. What do you think about Champion whey? Or how about a blend like IronTek or Dymatize 12hr release.
