10 mg/day should be pretty good for her. A couple simple observations/suggestions:
-Make sure she does her lifting first, followed by some lengthy, low intensity cardio afterward. (Walking briskly on an incline, etc). Also, I've heard from numerous vets that women really start burning the most fat once they are around the 45 minute mark, so an hour of cardio (I know thats FOREVER) 4 times a week should hit the mark. Hi intensity weight training, including supersets, might also help burn some fat.
-Glad to hear shes all about dieting, as that is most important, however, in order to keep sane and curb any binges/cravings, I really believe that one good solid cheat meal a week, usually on the weekend, will pay dividends in a long term process. There are two schools of thought that you can either set aside a certain number of "snack calories" per day (150-200), or have a cheat day....I prefer the cheat MEAL, (not an entire day of pigging out) because it can be seen as the reward for eating all those chicken breasts, tuna, eggs, greens, etc.
-I know its a pain in the ass, but if its her first time doing a mock contest prep, I advocate keeping a log of her meals and workout, so you can use it as weeks go by. There may be some days she feels really good, or really terrible, and you can use that as a guideline to improve as you guys move forward.
-You know as well as me that 10mg/var (though I like the dose), is no miracle potion by any means, and that its important to just stay patient, stay consistent, work hard, and the results will come slowly...also with var, she'll know they are quality results that she can most likely keep.
