Concur with Priest. Skeletal structure is complete and growth plates are fused. However, as you well know, muscle belly size is increased by repeatedly stressing the fibers until they have micro breaks and then heal wider and stronger than before. An analogy would be like a person having a heart attack (heart muscle being stress). We draw bloods on them to see if specific enzymes to cardiac muscle have spilled out but there is a window peroid for being able to detect this rise in their labwork otherwise the levels begin to go back to normal. For skeletal muscle, with effective, intesnse training, you will have specific fiber breakdown and enzymes spilling out. That is why recovery is so important. To get those enzyme levels back to normal before stress the muscle again so that the micro fiber breakdown heals and over time gets wider and stronger.
