Re: HELP! Want a change!!!
Varying my reps and poundages has worked good for me - meaning, i see you pretty much stick to a predetermined number of reps. I like to go as heavy as possible on some days dropping the reps to as little as "2 or 1" and going with as much weight as possible; then drop down and bust out a bunch of reps. Doing this every now and then, I believe, is good to promote mass and strength. It's worked good for me anyway. Also doing heavy negatives has worked good for me to break through plateaus.
I'm 44 now and have made the best gains of my life on all three lifts: squat bench and deadlift over the last couple of years doing this type of lifting. I was stuck at 420 on the bench for a long time. I recently hit 505 raw.
Don't be afraid to eat either - not sure what you're diet is but.. bottom line is.., the fastest way to get through a platuea is to gain a few pounds - don't be afraid to take in the calories. Just eating chicken breasts and salad aint gonna cut it.
best wishes,
