this diet fails to explain a few things that those of us who have discussed it know:

#1 - its not a bulking diet.....its a cutting/recomp diet. for a 200lb bodybuilder 2400 kcal is correct since its approx 50-60% of what is normally taken in during bulking.

#2 - its a low fat diet.....so when it says you have 1390 kcal left to eat for the rest of the day (already subtracted the 2 post workout meals) then that comes out to 347g of protein and carbs. no diet has zero fat, but even 250g of protein and carbs which would leave 43g of fat is reasonable for recomp/cutting. most of you consume way more calories on a daily basis and think you need this to grow, but consume a tremendous amount of fat to make up these calories. remember, protein and carbs have 4 kcal per gram and fat has 9 kcal.

#3 - when he makes statements like "5-6 meals per day makes you fat" he MEANS carbohydrate containing meals. the whole basis of this diet is controlling your insulin levels so you release unusually low levels of insulin prior to your workout when you're not in an anabolic state (anabolic by definition means the body's metabolic mode geared toward growth, not necessarily the growth itself) and releasing unusually high levels of insulin post workout when your body is trying to grow/rebuild. plus by manipulating your insulin production like this so it only spikes for about 2 of the 24 hours in a day decreases insulin resistance, thus making your post workout insulin even more effective for expressing the target receptors.
